chupacabra's brain dump

The frame of my glasses might last a long time.

I dislike changing frames for my glases every year, so everytime I get a new prescription, I only change the glasses and keep using the frames.

See, the problem with reusing the frame is that, if its acetate, I will break randomly when you least expect it. And then you do the walk of shame to get a new frame that fits your glasses, and there goes another frame to the trash.

This year, my job started a Lifestyle Spending Account where they give $500 yearly for Safety Tools, medical expenses, or remote office equipment. I decided to buy a pair of Safety Glasses. They are a bit different in style from what I'm used to since they are metal but they look good.

I managed to find a way of taking out the side shields so I can use them everytime, but so that I can reattach it if needed. They're comfy, they stay on my nose, but the real feature is... these big bois are strong! I've had them for a short time, but I've treated them baaaad, and they keep going on. Lens is not scratched whatsoever, and the metal is a slim titanium. These fall every other day, I clean the patio with them on, go to hikes etc.

This is the kind of product I'm looking for everywhere. I want one of this thing and I want it to last me forever. I do try to take care of my stuff, though some go through hell.

Now tech is hard, specially if you buy mainstream. When I got my first LG phone, I got out of the mainstream Android market. Once LG stopped making phones, I went with Sony. And I can't complain. I've been with it for 2yrs already and it works wonders. The camera is great, specially the manual settings, the headphone jack, the Camera shutter, the 250GB of space + SD card. And it still a fast phone. Faster than an iphone for sure.

I hope I can keep this phone for 5yrs at least so I don't have to buy another one. If I can fix it, I will. If not, I will surely get a Pixel with GrapheneOS and a chunky case.

PD. United Statians: Don' t get your frames at Lenscrafters. You pay 4 times more for a frame, and they are low quality. They make you pay for anti scratch, and the lens is already scratched when you're out of the store. Go to Walmart. These fuckers are cheap and the lenses are exceptional quality. I believe they are Zeiss lenses at my local Walmart. (I dont like buying online without testing.)
