Storing and transferring data is garbage.
Have you ever stop to think that everything we do on the internet is stored somewhere, and that thát somewhere requires batteries, and that batteries get old and servers get old, and stuff needs to be replaced? The internwt might not be a real place, but it has real effects on the world. And yeah I understand corporations are themore responsible by how fucked up the world is, but we are still guilty of out own behavior.
All of our online data, everything we do, every storage byte is out there, somewhere. It is not a literal cloud made of gas.
By us being here writing nonsense, storing our old pictures in an online drive that we'll never look at, storing old emails we never deleted and that we will never read again, we are contaminating the world. We don't see it, but it is somewhere else.
Same as physical trash. We buy shit, without thinking where it will end up, or if we even need it, or what arewe gonna do if it breaks or stops working, because we'll just put it in the trash can and it dissapears from our life in a week when the garbage truck comes. We can always buy new shit.
We need to be more conscious of what we consume, be it online, or onlife, and what to do with stuff that no longer serve us. The world is a pile of trash.
